Shanxi Beike Electric has successfully delivered a 25MW solar-plus-storage hybrid power station in the Central African Republic (CAR)—the country’s first large-scale integrated photovoltaic and energy storage project. With a total installed capacity of 25MW and a complementary energy storage system, this initiative addresses the region’s chronic electricity shortages through an innovative "PV + Storage" model, ensuring stable and clean energy output.
Project Background: Tackling Energy Poverty
The Central African Republic boasts abundant solar resources but suffers from underdeveloped grid infrastructure, severely hindering economic growth and access to reliable electricity. During the project’s initial phase, we faced critical challenges:
● Fragile grid: Unable to support large-scale renewable energy integration.
● Harsh environment: Extreme heat, humidity, and dust threatening equipment durability.
● Tight schedule: Demand for rapid deployment amid logistical constraints.
● Limited local maintenance capacity: Necessitating robust remote support solutions.
Comprehensive Turnkey Solution
To overcome these hurdles, Shanxi Beike Electric mobilized an end-to-end service team of 8 experts dedicated to the CAR project’s execution and long-term maintenance. The system includes:
● 25MW solar PV plant + 30MWh battery storage, generating 38,350MWh of annual PV output and 7,670MWh of annual grid-injected stored energy.
● Full-spectrum support from R&D and EPC to O&M, delivering 24/7 stable power for mining zones, urban areas, and critical facilities.
Impact: Powering Progress
This milestone project has significantly alleviated urban electricity shortages, bolstering daily livelihoods and economic development. By providing sustainable energy access, Shanxi Beike Electric is helping transform local communities and elevate living standards in the CAR.
