Daily Maintenance Guide for HV/LV Switchgear Assemblies

September 22, 2025

1. Ensure Proper Insulation Maintenance

HV/LV switchgear assemblies typically require an ambient temperature range of -10°C to 45°C.

Excessively high temperatures can:

Reduce the conductivity of metal components.

Increase resistivity.

Accelerate oxidation.

Decrease the insulation strength of insulating parts.

Excessively low temperatures can cause significant internal stress in components, potentially damaging the reliability of insulation.

Therefore:

It is essential to install electrical equipment with reinforced insulation and implement additional insulation protection measures based on specific conditions.

The surrounding environment must be free from fire hazards, pollution, and corrosive chemicals.

2. Perform Regular Dust Prevention

To prevent rust and corrosion on metal components within HV/LV switchgear, apply suitable protective coatings (e.g., paint).

To mitigate the impact of dust accumulation on insulation performance, regularly remove dust from the equipment using a soft brush.

For frequently operated circuit breakers, periodically inspect for loose mounting screws and perform necessary tightening.

3. Maintain Proper Internal Wiring

When temporary power connections are needed from the switchgear (e.g., for high-voltage equipment during production), strictly adhere to electrical safety management regulations.

Use wires with excellent insulation properties; their safety rating must fully meet the requirements of the electrical load.

Only qualified electrical personnel should perform such wiring.

Ensure wiring is neat and organized:

Routes must be clear and free from kinks or knots.

Wires must not be tangled.

Implement reliable grounding measures.

Promptly remove any temporary power facilities and restore the site to a clean condition once they are no longer required.
